This Learning Adventure is best done between the months of July and October during Sea Turtle Nesting season. Start in Tortuguero and the magic of the canals. From here we travel to Arenal where we continue to unravel some of the mysteries of this amazing country. Then to the the Rain forest of the South and the pristine white sand beaches of Manuel Antonio.
Day 1 – Arrival

Day 2 – Arenal – (B,L,D)
- Laguna Lodge - Tortuguero beach is the most important nesting site for green turtles. Through the efforts of the Community of Tortuguero, the hotel sector and address the National Park, the numbers have grown considerably in recent years and is about to exit the list of endangered species. Other turtle species, such as the leatherback and hawksbill also spawn on this beach, although in smaller quantities. Laguna Lodge offers the observation of spawning fall, from mid July to October.
Day 3 - Tortuguero – (B,L,D)
- The Tortuguero National Park is the main nature tourist destination in Costa Rica. Located in the North Caribbean, it is a vast wetland of primary forests bathed by a wild sea, which reminds us of the beginnings of the world. The park has 405 bird species, half of all the birds in Costa Rica. Its beaches are the nesting haven of seven kinds of sea turtles, therefore its name: Tortuguero. The park area has 3 types of forest: Humid Tropical, Humid Premontane and Tropical Montane. In addition, there are 52 kinds of fresh water fish and 160 species of mammals.

Day 5 – Arenal – (B)
- Rainforest Mysteries Tour at Luna Nueva - Visit the organic/biodynamic herbal estate called Luna Nueva for a great opportunity to learn about all aspects of the rainforest and how it relates to us as humans and what we eat. A wonderful, relaxing, informative day tour with organic lunch and bilingual guide.We start with a welcome refreshment and fresh fruit and introductions. We then head out on an all-access Interpretive Rainforest hike. You'll get a chance to taste the local harvests of fresh vegetables and herbs and learn about medicinal plants and sustainable agriculture.We finish up with a vibrant, super healthy organic lunch straight from the farm.
- Sky Tram / SkyTrek - Sky Trek starts with a tour in the Sky Tram to reach the top of the Arenal reserve, then begins a tour of adventure full of adrenaline above the treetops, which consists on a system of zip lines, that allows you to observe the rainforest and its landscape from a different perspective, safely in an innovative and different system.The tour includes 8 cross-sectional cables that together have a total length of 1.7 miles with distances from 100 to 2460 feet, and with a maximum height of 660 feet, which exceed the treetops providing a panoramic view of the Arenal volcano and lake.
Day 6 - Arenal – (B,D)
- Horseback to La Fortuna Waterfall - Get spectacular views of the Arenal Volcano and the green countryside as you travel by horseback to the 140-foot Río Fortuna waterfall. Then take a 20-minute hike to the river to cool off in the rushing waters beneath the waterfall.
- Liquid Lava Volcano Hike Tour & Eco Termales Hot Springs & Dinner - Hike through lush rainforest with a naturalist guide close to the base of the Arenal Volcano where we wait for sunset at the observation point. As it starts to get dark, on clear nights you can see the amazing lava flow of Central America's most-active volcano. Later, take a relaxing dip in natural hot springs
Day 7 – Arenal - Manuel Antonio – (B)

Day 8 – Manuel Antonio – (B,L)
- Manuel Antonio Park Guided Tour – Your guide will take you through the world renowned Manuel Antonio Park. This informative hike will teach you about the complexity of the rain forest while pointing out many species of birds, mammals, reptiles, flora & fauna. Enjoy the 3 pristine white sand beaches within Manuel Antonio Park and marvel at the rainforest that surrounds you. Beware, Capuchin Monkeys can be thieves
