Liquid Lava Hike with Baldi Hotsprings & Dinner –To start the famous Liquid Lava tour, your naturalist guide will pick you up from your hotel and then drive to the El Silencio private reserve, right at the edge of the Arenal Volcano National Park.
Along this informative, beautiful walk, you’ll learn about the behemoth Arenal Volcano, the secondary and primary tropical forest surrounding it and the interesting wildlife of the area. Once we finish the walk, we’ll head to the active side to see if we can spot some of the bright red, molten rock falling from the volcano. And it's here you can partake in sharing some Liquid Lava (a mix of local "fire water" and natural drink.) We always say: "If you can't see the lava, at least you'll be able to feel it..." Baldí hot springs with over 22 different temperature pools, swim-up bars, locker rooms, restaurant and a more-lively atmosphere. For Baldí Hot Springs (& Dinner) On the way back from the view point, we'll pass by the Baldí Hot Springs where your guide will assist you to get your entry bracelet and show you the locker facilities, bar and restaurant areas. There are small lockers for rent and a coat check area. Towels are also available for a small fee. The complex is rather large and the further away from the entrance you'll find quieter hot springs and more-relaxing areas. Beware of the water slide, though. It goes really fast and some clients have come away with cuts and bruises. Your bracelet will indicate whether you have dinner included and can proceed to the buffet at any time. Your guide will arrange with you the pick-up time (usually about 9pm or 9:30pm.)
Day 4 –Arenal – Monteverde – (B,L)

Mountain Bike to Monteverde - Bicycling as a means of transport between La Fortuna and Monteverde. People who love to ride mountain bikes can now do so as a means of transport up to Monteverde – do an adventure on the way to your next destination, as a part of the innovative Desafío Adventure Connection. We have two riding options, depending on your adventure level: The first and more-intense ride is about 3-hours long or about 25 miles. We’ll start at the Lake Arenal Dam where you drop off your luggage with Captain Marquez, our boat driver. From there we ride past the rural community of El Castillo until we get to the pristine Caño Negro river that runs alongside Rancho Margot. From here we do a technical river crossing and continue riding through rolling hills along the edge of picture-perfect Lake Arenal until ride to the small town of Río Chiquito. We also offer, a slightly-more-expensive, but shortened, 15-mile ride that includes a boat ride across the Lake Arenal to the mid-way point.
This man-made lake is the second-largest lake in Central America. To get from one side of the lake to the other by land, there are several bridge-less river crossings. The scenery is a combination of secondary rainforest, farmland and great views of the lake and volcano.
