Third World Surf camp is located in the charming beach town of Jaco, halfway down the Pacific coastline of Costa Rica and conveniently close to the capital, San José. This central part of the coast is home to some of the most consistent surf breaks in the world, providing visitors with year- round surf and tropical warm water. Third World Surf is a premier surf camp and surf school, operated out of Hotel Poseidon, a boutique style hotel located in the middle of Jaco Beach, Costa Rica. Amenities include a swimming pool, restaurant, 2 bars and swim up pool bar, 1/2 block from the beach, a/c rooms with large cable TV's and stocked mini-bars.
Jaco is famous for being a surfers paradise, and
in addition to Jaco (which is perfect for beginner and intermediate
surfers) there are many surf spots in the surrounding area, including
Playa Hermosa (with powerful tubular waves, loved by
advanced surfers).
Beginners: Learn to surf with our knowledgeable and experienced staff. You will learn the basics of paddling, standing, and turning, as well as wave selection and other fundamental skills. We also stress safety and ocean awareness. The main focus of our surf school is to get our guests up and riding waves. We want you to leave here with the confidence and knowledge to go from here and surf on your own.
Intermediate/Advanced
Surfers: Surfers with previous
surfing experience are taken on guided surf sessions in the Playa Jacó
/ Hermosa area. Let our local guides show you where the best breaks
are so you can make the most of your surf vacation. We strive to put
